These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the SoberRise mobile application and website ("Service") operated by SoberRise ("we", "our", or "us"). By using SoberRise, you agree to these Terms.
1. Health disclaimer
SoberRise is a support and tracking tool — it is not a medical treatment, therapy service, or substitute for professional medical advice.
If you are experiencing alcohol withdrawal symptoms (including sweating, shaking, confusion, or seizures), please seek emergency medical attention immediately. Alcohol withdrawal can be life-threatening.
SoberRise does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your sobriety journey, especially if you have a history of heavy or long-term alcohol use.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use SoberRise. By using the Service, you confirm you are at least 17 years old.
3. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@soberrise.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Community guidelines
The SoberRise community is a supportive, judgment-free space. You agree not to post content that:
- Promotes or glorifies alcohol or substance use
- Harasses, threatens, or demeans other users
- Contains personal information about other users
- Is spam, advertising, or promotional in nature
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines without notice.
5. Subscriptions and payments
SoberRise offers a free tier and a premium subscription. Premium subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. To cancel, manage your subscription in your device's App Store or Google Play settings.
Free trials: if offered, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial period ends. We do not offer refunds except where required by law.
6. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and trademarks in SoberRise are owned by or licensed to SoberRise. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
7. User content
You retain ownership of content you create in SoberRise (journal entries, posts). By posting in the community, you grant us a limited licence to display that content within the Service. We do not use your private journal entries for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoberRise is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SoberRise from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of SoberRise after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SoberRise operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
